Wishing I’d bought a dashcam with parking mode right about now. As if I needed even more reason to hate people.

It’s hard to see in the second picture, but it goes almost all the way to the back of the passenger door.

This reminds me that I need to get one of those wide-angle dashcams for my car. The cheapo Chinese one I got crapped out a few weeks back.

There’s a van a couple cars behind me that’s keyed from the front door to the rear quarter, which makes me think random shitty kids, but it might have already been keyed, so who knows. I’m parked somewhere different than usual, which does make me wonder if it’s someone upset that I’m in “their” spot.

I think I can buff it out, we’ll see.

I don’t have a regular parking spot, otherwise I’d do the same.

I’m not sure, I’ll see what my deductible would be, can’t remember at the moment. I also already have some rubbing compound that I’ll try first in case.

If there’s one thing you can’t go full Chinese with, it’s a dashcam. Coughing up for something decent that can survive being baked at 100F in direct sunlight is good. Mine died because although it had the parking record function, all of the glue melted apart and the screen just stopped doing things.

Oh geez, that’s a worse death than mine is experiencing. Mine just doesn’t turn on when I turn the car on about half to two-thirds of the time now, and I keep noticing halfway to work that it’s not recording.

I tore it apart into its constituent pieces to find out what else failed.

One of the capacitors was weeping, which would explain why it occasionally just froze up and crashed.
